Villa Draghi in Montegrotto Terme: Between Neo-Gothic History and the Museum of Ancient Thermalism
Built between the 19th and 20th centuries, Villa Draghi is a fine example of Venetian Neo-Gothic style. Its architecture reflects the eclectic taste of the era, with references to medieval forms that so fascinated the cultured travelers of the Grand Tour.In that period, nobles and European intellectuals arrived in Montegrotto not only for cures but to experience a "cultural pilgrimage" toward the roots of classical civilization, attracted by the remains of Roman baths and the wild nature of the hills.
The Path of Love:
An Analog Awakening At Casa Luna,
we often promote the concept of Digital Detox and the rediscovery of natural rhythms. To reach the Villa, we recommend leaving the car and walking along the evocative "Path of Love".
- Difficulty: Very easy, ideal for families.
- The experience: A walk in the shade of about 10 minutes, enriched by poetic plaques inviting contemplation. Arrived at the top, the view spans the Euganean Hills, ancient extinct volcanoes that protect the area from winds and purify the air, creating a unique microclimate for your health.
Science and Geology:
The Museum of Ancient Thermalism
In the masterfully renovated "rustici" of the villa, the Museum of Ancient Thermalism and the Territory is housed. It is a fundamental step of our Regeneration Protocol, as it scientifically explains the miracle of the water you will use in treatments during your stay.
- The Secret Journey of Water: In the museum, you will discover that Montegrotto's thermal water is not simple hot water. It is a "natural drug" that originates in the Prealps and completes a 30-year underground journey, descending up to 3000 meters deep before resurfacing at 87°C, enriched with precious minerals like Sodium, Bromine, and Iodine.
- Volcanic Past: You can observe fossils and magmatic rocks telling the volcanic formation of the territory, which occurred about 35 million years ago.
- Inclusivity: The path is modern and accessible to all, with tactile maps and explanatory videos.
